Healthcare Expert Warnings

“People are administering materials they can’t verify. Although the research behind this drug is sound, these digital products may not include what they claim,” stated Jason Murphy, the director of pharmaceutical services at Chemist4U.

Dr Crystal Wyllie of Asda Online Doctor connected the surge in interest to current cost increases for authorized weight-loss drugs such as Mounjaro. “With prices rising, individuals are turning to social media. But counterfeit treatments are extremely risky. You cannot know what’s inside or whether the environment they were produced in was clean,” she said.

Her staff has already encountered individuals harmed by personal administration from unverified sources. “We recognize the disappointment, but purchasing from messaging apps or WhatsApp is taking chances with your well-being,” stated Wyllie. “These substances could be impure or improperly measured.”

Manufacturer Position

A representative from the pharmaceutical company said the substance was in phase 3 clinical trials and had not been reviewed or approved by any government authority anywhere in the world. “Therefore at this point no one can sell [it] for personal consumption,” they said, adding that any item “misleadingly claiming itself as a company experimental substance not yet authorized … may subject patients to potentially serious health risks”.
